Claxton Grange is unique in that it offers its guests a village community in which to relax and make friends. The cottages are well situated close enough to visit the countryside, local towns, the East coast, the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the historic city of York.

In addition to the attractions such as country houses, scenery, leisure parks, museums and shopping in York and the local towns, Claxton offers its residents a heated indoor swimming pool with changing rooms and an open air hard surface tennis court. Parents are advised that all children under 14 must be supervised by an adult over 18 when using the pool facility. There is also a sun lounge / garden room next to the pool where you can watch over your children in the pool and relax or read your favourite novel or catch up with all the gossip in your monthly magazine.

There is a barbecue area for use at any time situated behind the pool building.
